ORANGEBURG
South Carolina

Orangeburg is home to South Carolina State University, which boasts the only bachelor’s degree program in nuclear engineering among historically black colleges and universities. The city was founded in 1704 and incorporated on Christmas Eve in 1883. Edisto Memorial Gardens, the former site of a Civil War skirmish, displays some 4,800 rose plants in more than 120 varieties.

Mark Chappell and Hugh McAngus, members of Chappell, Smith & Arden’s litigation team, represented a husband and wife injured while attempting to enter Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County. They were involved in a multi-car collision, spun into the roadway, and struck by a tractor trailer.
