AIKEN
South Carolina

Aiken began as a key railroad stop along a line that stretched from the Savannah River to Charleston. The city is in the middle of South Carolina horse country and is home to the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum. The beautiful restored railroad depot in the center of town is home to the Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum.

Founding partner Mark Chappell was the lead plaintiff’s liaison counsel in the U.S. District Court case related to the 2005 train derailment and chlorine gas spill in the nearby town of Graniteville.
