LEXINGTON

Lexington is the county seat of Lexington County. It sits just south of Lake Murray at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and U.S. Highway 378 in South Carolina’s Midlands region, serving as a bookend to a booming suburban growth area between it and Columbia. Established in 1861, the town was damaged by Sherman’s troops during the Civil War.
